Tuesday, October 20, 2009
12:00 Noon - 1:00 p.m. - USAir Shuttle to Washington, DC
3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Telephone interview with ABC News and L.A. Times on Jack Johnson legislation.
6:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. - Vote on three routine bills. Democrats unable to get important bills ready for House action.
Wednesday, October 21st
9:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. - Republican conference meeting in room HC-5 in basement of Capitol. Emphasis on jobs and small business.
10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. - Financial Services Committee votes
1:15 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. - To House Floor for more non-controversial votes (only votes of day)
2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Intelligence Committee briefing on PATRIOT Act. I strongly believe that this is an absolutely essential weapon against terrorism.
Thursday, October 22nd
9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. - Votes in Financial Services Committee in Rayburn Building.
10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. - Intelligence Committee hearing in Cannon Building on CIA's obligation to notify Congress of operations.
10:50 a.m. - 11:40 a.m. - More votes in Financial Service Committee creating Consumer Financial Protection Agency Act. Sounds good but it is another step in increasing federal government's role in managing the economy - I voted against it.
11:45 a.m. - 12:30 a.m. - Routine votes on House floor.
3:00 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. - Voting on House floor on Solar Technology Roadmap Act of 2010 regarding solar technology research and demonstration projects. Close call, but I voted for it.
5:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. - To House Floor to begin voting on Coast Guard Authority Act. Coast Guard has done a particularly outstanding job since 9/11.
