Pete King's Thoughts & Whereabouts: 12/14 & 12/15

6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. - routine votes on House floor.

Tuesday, December 15th
9:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. - GOP Conference in 345 Cannon. Dems are in disarray. No idea when we will finish for the year because of Dems being split on healthcare and defense. Also Nancy Pelosi wants to go to Copenhagen on Wednesday night.

10:00 a.m. - 11:35 a.m. - To CVC for classified briefing on Afghanistan and Iraq by Sec. Gates and Sen. Clinton.

12:15 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. - With Bill O'Reilly in office and then to House gallery to vote and Member Dining Room for lunch. Bill is in town for press holiday party at White House. As always Bill was opinionated and friendly.

2:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. - Meet with reps from Winthrop Hospital.

3:30 p.m. - 3:50 p.m. - Meet with Admiral Steve Abbott and former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating who are Chairman and Vice Chairman of Defense Department Panel determining whether NYC will get a WMD Civil Support Team (CST). I have been fighting for this for several years. Absolutely essential for our defense. meeting seemed to go well.

4:15 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. - Press Conference with other Ranking Members and GOP members from Illinois denouncing Obama decision to bring GITMO prisoners to Illinois.

4:50 p.m. - 5:20 p.m. - Vote for Iran Refined Petroleum Sanctions Act (HR 2194) which I had co-sponsored. Final vote was 412-12-4.

5:30 p.m. - 6:10 p.m. - To Intelligence Committee for FBI/NCTC terrorism briefing.

Word now is that we will finish Wednesday. This probably means there are still problems with healthcare bill in Senate.
