Pete King's Thoughts & Whereabouts: 7/19 - 7/23
Sunday, July 19th
2:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Coney Island
To Cyclones game at Keyspan Park in Brooklyn with my son Sean. We try to see a few Cyclones games every season. Great atmosphere, reminds me a lot of the Brooklyn Dodgers and Ebbets Field. Threw out the first pitch. This was the fifth time I’ve done it. The first four times the ball was over the plate with no problem. This time it was low and outside but the catcher saved me by getting it before it hit the dirt. Sean and I had a terrific time and the Cyclones won 2-1.
Thursday, July 23rd
8:00 – 8:30 a.m.
Washington, DC
To the Capitol Hill Club for breakfast with Rudy Giuliani who was in town for speeches and TV shows. It’s been about three months since I saw Rudy and we were able to catch up on a lot. I told him I still think he is our strongest candidate for Governor next year and urged him to make the race. He is seriously looking at it. As we were finishing, he reminded me that the Yankees were in first place.
