To Capitol for classified briefing by Administration officials on Afghanistan. It will be tough going but we cannot allow Taliban and Al Qaeda to regain their sanctuary in Afghanistan like they had proir to 9/11.

Thursday, September 17th
9:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
Intelligence Committee classified briefing with CIA Director Leon Panetta

12:20 p.m. - 12:40 p.m.
Meet in office with Madoff victims.

1:45 p.m.
To House floor to vote to cut off funding to ACORN. Have been trying to do this for months. Most Democrats finally decided to abandon ACORN and the vote passed by 345-75. (All the "no" votes come from Democrats.)

3:00 p.m.
Shuttle flight back to La Guardia.

Friday, September 18th
Massapequa Park, 11:00 a.m.
In District Office for WCBS-TV interview with Marcia Kramer on ACORN vote.
