6:00 p.m. - Do interview with WABC-TV for 11:00 p.m. Eyewitness News show regarding the Queens Imam arrested in terror case.
Tuesday, September 22nd
12:30 p.m. - Leave LaGuardia Airport in Delta Shuttle to Washington D.C.
6:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. - 3 votes on House floor, including bill to extend unemployment benefits another 12 weeks.
Wednesday, September 23rd
9:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. - To Capitol for weekly Republican Conference meeting, focused mostly on healthcare.
10:00 a.m. - 10:20 a.m. - Office meeting with Barry Goldwater, Jr. who served in the Congress for 14 years (1968-1982) and is son of Sen. Barry Goldwater the 1964 GOP nominee for President and the father of modern conservatism. Barry was in town on business but came by to say hello. He had actually endorsed me for Hempstead Councilman in 1977 primary. Great guy; great conversation.
2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. - Intelligence Committee briefing on Afghanistan and Pakistan.
5:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. - To Speaker's office in Capitol for farewell reception for Italian Ambassador to the U.S. Giovanni Castellaneta.
