Congressman Pete King Thanks Islip Resident and WWII Army Veteran

Islip, NY - Congressman Pete King (R-Seaford) thanks Islip resident and WWII Army veteran Dominic DeLuca for his outstanding service to our country. The 92-year old DeLuca, who landed at Normandy on D-Day, is being presented with the Legion d'Honneur this week by the French government which will appoint him to the rank of Knight of the Legion of Honour.

Rosemary and I have been parishioners at St. William the Abbot Church in Seaford for almost 50 years. During that time we have had family Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals at St. William's. Like so many Seaford residents, we have always been made to feel that we are a part of the St. William's family. Last Saturday night, St. William's celebrated its 90th anniversary. The evening began with a 5:00 PM Mass celebrated by Msgr. Bob Hayden and continued with a Gala at the Knights of Columbus Memorare Council on Jackson Avenue. The Church and the K of C Hall were filled to capacity with so many good people in attendance, including Msgr. Camp and Fr. Garry who formerly served at St. William's and returned for the evening. I was proud to present Msgr. Hayden with an American flag which was flown over our nation's Capitol. At a time of moral equivalency and more people searching for answers, St. William's serves its parishioners as an oasis of calm and reassurance in a desert of increasing turmoil.

Paid for by Pete King for Congress.
