About Pete King

Congressman Peter T. King (R-Seaford) is serving his fourteenth term in Congress after being re-elected in 2018.

During his years in Congress, Rep. King has earned the reputation of being an independent leader who always fights for his constituents even if it means bucking his own party. Following Superstorm Sandy, Rep. King battled fellow Republicans in order to secure $60.4 billion in emergency funding for storm victims.

Rep. King has proven to be a staunch supporter of first responders as he again stood up to his own party to obtain vital healthcare for the firefighters, police, EMTs and constructions workers suffering from 9/11 illnesses.

Rep. King has also been a leader in the battle against MS-13 as, bringing President Trump and Attorney General Sessions to Long Island to address this important issue. This has led to additional funding for local law enforcement to crush this murderous gang.

Congressman King has also secured additional funding to combat deadly illnesses such as breast cancer, prostate cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.

Congressman King is a member of the Homeland Security Committee and Ranking Member of the Sub-Committee on Emergency Preparedness. He also serves on the Financial Services Committee.

A graduate of St. Francis College (Brooklyn) and Notre Dame Law School, Rep. King has lived in New York his entire life and has been a resident of Nassau County for more than 50 years. He and his wife Rosemary reside in Seaford and have two adult children and two grandchildren.
